Children and Divorce Podcast & Videocast.  What’s in the best interest of the child during a divorce.  Attorney William Orth, discusses Family Law and Divorce , focusing on how issues relating to children and the divorce are handled.

Mr. Orth explains that there are different factors taken into consideration by Family Court when trying to determine what would be in the best interest of the child.  In discussing visitation (now called time sharing) one key determining factor cited by Mr. Orth is whether the parent requesting visitation fosters a loving relatiionship between the child and the other parent.  Additionally taken into consideration by the Court  is how much contact a parent has historically had with the child.  Asking the Court to grant you more visitation time when you have hand little to no contact with your child will hardly give you credibility.

Additionally discussed in this episode regarding children and Divorce is the appointment of a Guardian ad litem, when and why is this done; traveling spouses and how it effects custody and visitation; and Injunctions, how they impact the abiity for contact for the offending parent.
